Brandeis COE Convenes Third Party Payers Meeting
COE staff were among the 77 attendees of the PDMPs and Third Party Payers Meeting held in Washington, DC this past December. Also present were PDMP administrators, federal government agency managers, researchers, and representatives from public and private third party payers. Participants gave presentations on current data sharing initiatives between PDMPs and insurers.
COE White Paper on PDMP Best Practices Released
With introductory remarks by Congressman and PDMP champion Harold (Hal) Rogers, the release of a comprehensive Center of Excellence (COE) white paper on prescription monitoring best practices was announced at a press conference on Capitol Hill on September 20. The report, commissioned by the Pew Charitable Trusts, examines the current evidence for PDMP best practices and proposes research on how PDMPs can continue to increase their effectiveness.
Pew Press Briefing Videos Now Available
Hosted by the Pew Charitable Trusts, a Press briefing in Washington, DC on September 20, 2012 marked the publication of the COE's White Paper on PDMP Best Practices. The panel of experts included (left to right): Don Vogt (Oklahoma PDMP), John Eadie (COE Director), Peter Kreiner (COE Principal Investigator), Karen Kelly (Operation Unite), and Nathaniel Katz (Tufts University).
